A hot new youngster in the Hardcore scene, Nick Adam is making waves all over the UK.
I have been writing since quite an early age. I had piano lessons when I was 13 and used to make music on my Amiga with programs like Octomed & Peotracker. No one thing particularly has inspired me really, I have just always loved technology-based music so it was really a natural progression for me to move into production at some point.
A degree in Music Production
I don't really have a preference. I feel completely comfortable creating all sorts of styles. I like my music to be quite diverse so it depends totally on my mood at that particular time. I am quite open about music but I'm not one to follow trends. I enjoy experimenting with new sounds and ideas, so who knows where that may lead, watch this space!
I can't really narrow it down to one artist or style. Everything has had some influence on my music but bands such as The Prodigy with tracks like 'Fire' & 'Out of Space' and artists such as Helix & Justin Time with tracks like 'Cluster' & 'Here I Am' - spring to mind as quite important influences.
My favourite program has got to be Logic. I think this is the best sequencer but I have a PC and Logic is a Mac thing now - problem! Also definitely my Korg Triton because this forms the base to all of my tracks - I would be lost without it. Oh! I want a virus!!!
I have to say that it is down to my eldest brother who bought a live hardcore tape from a 92 rave and got bored of it. I was about 10 or 11 at the time and I took the tape and played it constantly - my passion for hardcore grew from there really.
I have worked with Nu Energy's K Complex, am currently in the process of working with Gammer and also worked with Sharkey in 2005. I would love to work with Justin Time because of all the quality hardcore anthems he was behind in the 96 - 97 days - his production is fantastic!
The Cheeky Girls are favourites of mine and I really like cutting some serious rug to a bit of S Club - I was devastated when they split, cried for days!
I think I just answered this in the last question! I wish I was in the closet with Britney though - I hope my girlfriend doesn't see this (if you have, I'm only joking!)..
I've got the Scissor Sisters' album somewhere!
I found myself one morning enjoying a Teletubbies episode!
Prodigy - Your Love (wicked piano riff)
Johnny L - Ohh I Like It
Foul Play - Bein' With You (jungle)
Gammer & D&A - The Light
Brisk & Fade - Retro Rush
BC - Planet Dust (drum & bass)
Too hard! I like both but if i had to choose: Bo Selecta
Kylie (tasty ass!)
