Adam McEvoy has been playing music since he was THREE YEARS OLD!!! He would listen to his musical teacher or the radio and then copy what he had heard on the piano.

Musical training

My 'training' was self-taught in the pubs & clubs of London and South-East England, with bands that I joined or formed.

Which artists inspire you?

Mozart & the rest of the classic crew, The Beatles & the UK 60's sounds, 70's funk & disco, 80's electro (breakdance music) & breakbeat, Queen, D-Train, The Human League, Jean Michelle Jarre, Kraftwerk, The Prodigy (their producer anyway!), George Michael, Status Quo, Whitesnake, Rainbow & the rest of the pop-rockers, Craig David, Fatboy Slim, Quincy Jones - in fact anyone who has their own 'sound' (you know it's them as soon as you hear a tune, even if it's not their usual style), and anyone who has natural talent & keeps going when the pop idols \ x-factor 'winners' are long gone (apart from Will Young, who has got a great voice).

Which artists have you worked with?

Alison Limerick (I remixed 'Where Love Lives'), Missy Elliot & Scary Spice (I remixed 'I Want You Back' with a Drum & Bass artist known as Embee). I played keyboards on a Joey Negro track before he was really famous. I've played / written with / for MC MC, A-Sides, MC Duke (one of the UK's first hip hop names), Mike 'Waveform' James, Steve Johnson, Mark 'Ruff' Ryder, and various other DJ's, record producers. And Ola, of course!

Who do you most like working with?

Everyone's good to work with in different ways - MC MC, MC Duke, A-Sides & Waveform are mates, so it's always a good, relaxed atmosphere. Ryder just uses me for my keyboard skill, so I'm in & out in an hour. Alison Limerick was so normal, and what a voice!

How long have you been making music?

I started writing my own stuff at 18.

Do you play any musical instruments?

Piano, organ (with pedals!) but I write for most other instruments - I have plug-ins that let me play guitars, drums, violins etc. from a keyboard, so I try to make them as realistic as possible by playing as if they were really a guitar or drum kit etc.

What's happening in the future for you?

Start my own music library, buy a house on the coast, get married.

Your likes?

Close motor sport / video games / good films

Your dislikes?

Too many repeats on the tv - there must be some great tv producers that don't get the chance to get their programmes on air.
